Finally! My first animation! It's not perfect, but I'm quite happy with result ^_^ Animated in Anime Studio, used Photoshop to make it a GIF. Used frames from the show as reference.
I have to say this is an excellent effort overall!
You got the leg movement perfectly, like most walk cycle animations, but you actually animated the head and tail as well! Most people forget these. the eye blink is also a nice touch.
One thing I would criticize is the head movement is not quite like the show's ponies. Their head bob in a sort of anti-clockwise movement, not strictly up and down (which incidentally is actually how real horse heads move when they walk).
One other thing I like is that you have excellent Flash vectoring technique! I can find no flaw at all in the way Twilight is drawn.
All in all, this is something to be proud of. Keep up the great work!
very smooth motion but that's not what is great here. In most every version of a pony walking cycle everyone else focuses on the legs and hooves and gets this same smooth animation BUT always forgets the tail and completely ignores the head. This one has it spot on with the slight bounce to the mane and tail and the eyes actually BLINK not just blankly open all the time. a perfect trot cycle worthy of the most powerful unicorn in Ponyville.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars, even on closest examination I couldn't find even 1 thing I could say was wrong with it. good job!
